This movie is based on a true story about a boxer named "Irish" Mickey Ward ( Mark Wahlburg) and his brother who trains him Dick Eklund. It tells their story from when they were little in Lowell, Massachusets to present day. It shows the battle that Eklund had with drugs to when Mickey won his world championship in London.
